Kernstown Battlefield is fantastic and made better by the excellent and knowledgeable staff. Check hours and events to make sure the location is open. Speak with the staff upon arrival to check for a house and golf cart tour. The staff also provided and excellent talk about the history of the location, battles that occured, and impact on the civil war. Facilities are well maintained with restrooms. Be respectful and if able, donate to support this historical location.

My wife and I are researching the 8th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment so a visit for specifics of the battle was a must. We were not disappointed. The tour guides were proficient in all facets of the battle as well as details of the 8th Ohio's role. We are very appreciative. They were patient with our questions and the tour was not hurried or superficial.

Loved visiting here! We got a golf cart tour of the battlefield, saw a lot of guns, cannons, etc that they had doing the battle, and learned some great history!

We had a great tour guide who shared a wealth of information about this site. She was friendly and very helpful in answering our questions. The buildings and grounds were beautiful, even as some were still in the restoration process. Nice little gift shop available also.
