The access point is in the south of the lake. To get to the east side, it can take up to 6 hours on a canoe. The girl in the office helped us change our camping site from the east side to the south side. There is also the option to take a boat that takes you to your camping spot and your canoe. We started paddling in the canoe at 4pm. It was very wavy, very scary. It's better to check the wind forecast and/or get there as early as you can. Paddle against the waves so you are perpendicular to them.

Lake Opeongo is beautiful, and there is a good visitor center with a gift and food shop. The staffs were nice and friendly when we were there. We had coffee and some souvenirs. The center is a cottage type, which looks pretty. You can rent a boat here for canoeing. Also, there is a parking spot. The most attractive thing was to drive down the road to reach the lake, you will surely enjoy the ride. I will definitely recommend this place.

Great spot for day trips or overnight camping! The canoe rentals are very reasonable and they have a variety of sizes. Beautiful lake.

This lake is so beautiful! Come on a weekday, there are so few people, you will feel that you have the place to yourself. We rented kayaks at the office. 35 for a single, 45 for a double for the whole day. The only one flaw was having to use the outhouse, that was brutal.
