I have attended First Christian Church of Tucson for 14 years. This is an open and affirming congregation. We practice open membership and communion. Our church supports important community service organizations such as the community food bank. Our facility houses two other congregations that worship here as well as the Desert Spring preschool. No matter where you are on life's journey, you will feel welcome here.

First Christian Church of Tucson, which has a denominational affiliation with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), is a loving and caring church. Several years ago the church proudly celebrated its 100th year anniversary in Tucson. It has been recognized as a leader for social causes in the community. Several organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and Humane Borders found their roots in this church. I came to this church 10 years ago from another Disciples of Christ church in Ohio and like that church, I find this church to be warm, welcoming and spiritually comforting. If you are looking for church home this is a good place to start.

I came to First Christian Church when my husband was ill and I was struggling to believe that God loved me, and I learned there that God loves me and I do not need to do anything to earn that love. First Christian and God's love has transformed me in that I want to spread God's love with others and so I work with people who have a mental health challenge to help them recover. If you are looking for a church that truly cares about people and wants people to experience God's gracious love, come to First Christian Church. Sometimes it is confused with another church with a similar name, but the two churches are very different. People at First Christian are encouraged to think and discover for themselves how to relate to God. It is the first church I've ever attended that encouraged me to think and to question.
