Superb venue for a special occasion - ours was a christening reception. Lovely main building and the extensive and mature gardens are stunning with lots of various little nooks and features to make it a veritable wonderland - especially for children! Staff were lovely too. :-) Only gripe (for which it doesn't get the 5* treatment) is that the food was not quite on par with the rest of the quality provided and experienced for the price they charge per head.

Very large well maintained building set in its own enclosed grounds, with parking to the front and an overflow car park in adjacent field. Once inside the roos on the ground floor are very well decorated and very roomy for private functions. A well stocked bar and a very pleasant and welcoming staff team. We attended for a private function and were well looked after, had nice, well cooked buffet food and the room had a lot open wood fire., bonus. Very clean facilities and all round a good place to have a party. This would have been a five star rating but due to not visiting the grounds nor the hotel side of the premises I was not able, however if the rest holds up to the little I saw it will be hard to beat.
Lovely venue, the food was so so
We held our parents Golden Wedding Anniversary Afternoon Tea Celebration at the Old Vicarage. What a truly wonderful event it was. The setting is stunning with a beautiful, light but cosy dining room, lounge area and bar. The afternoon tea was scrumptious with a lovely varied variety of treats- both savoury and sweet. Both Laura and Lily were super helpful in the organising of the event and on the day itself- nothing was too much trouble and their service was seamless. Laura sorted out an unknown dietary requirement swiftly and discreetly. We all would highly recommend this stunning venue for any special event.
Beautiful place. Came for a baby shower. When they came with food it was served different some for four and some for five people, they didn't explain that just put it on the table. Our friend was slightly late as she couldn't find anywhere to park and had to go in the train station car park as the over flow car park was shut! When we asked for something for her to have as she paid 15.95 they gave her a few sandwhiches and that was it. They then said the chef has gone home and her bits of her afternoon tea were on the other table, and the other people were eating it as they didn't know! They could of got another scone and a cake for her out of the kitchen. Food was lovely and so is the place. Shame about the service.
