This is a great place for extending your walk across from Riverside Park. There is a pathway right next to the river and a large grass area next to it. Plenty of ducks and swans to see. The walk takes you to a stone bridge at the far end. It takes about half an hour to go from one end to the other.

Always a beautiful walk. It head's on the Itchen way which you can follow all the way to Winchester. It can be quite busy nearer the park and Sports Fields but the crowds then to depart the further down you go. In the Summer be sure to check out local Kayak hire. It's a great place for it!
It's a walk by the river. Lots of swans and other water fowl to feed and watch. You can sometimes spot the kingfisher. At dusk in season you can also watch the bat's catching insects. The river is usually quite busy in the summer as many people kayak/canoe or paddle board in it, not to mention fishing. There's plenty of benches or grassy space to have a picnic or just a few minutes sit down. I like it but I've always lived close. Unfortunately there are not any toilets nearby, although the White Swan pub is at the end of the walk at Mansbridge if you wanted a drink too. (There are some public toilets at the cricket pavilion in Riverside Park, but they are not always open.) There is usually an ice cream van at the Woodmill end of the river either in the car park or across the road. There is also a children's play area at this end and you could pop over to the tidal side of the river and its expanse of parkland.
Great on a summer's day.
nice place to have a pleasant walk over the weekend
