Rue Geoffroy-Saint-Hilaire
N/A
Have seen a lot of the standing Wallace fountains, but this one is humbly plastered against a wall outside the Jardin des Plantes and the sound of its continuous dripping water was so relaxing. It is interesting to note that Sir Richard Wallace, after whom this fountain was named, was an English philantropist who financed installations of such water feature to provide safe drinking water for the poor after many aqueducts were destroyed during the siege and Commune episode. This is why I love Paris : unassuming architectural details with great stories.
