Really nice place to visit for a walk even when the hall itself is closed currently due to tier 4 restrictions. We have visited several times and each time there has been a trail for the children to follow themed to the time of year eg Halloween and Christmas.

Great day out, Gardens are a great walk and the castle and hall are really interesting, dog friendly but must be kept on lead and a lovely cafe and shop at the end, also well laid out one way system for covid

Amazing quarry walk to the castle ruin, with gorgeous planting and atmosphere - well worth a visit. Unfortunately the lake was closed for a shoot so couldn't go round that, which was a bit disappointing. With current lockdown restrictions felt safe due to one way loop around grounds and staff were very friendly - our black lab got a free sausage from the cafe so he's a big fan!

Really enjoyed our time here. Staff were very welcoming & explained Covid safety measures. Car parking was close to the hall and the path to the admissions were clearly marked. Toilets were partially open, clean & there was hot water & soap. Sanitizer was readily available when required. The one- way system allowed for adequate space in the gardens and although we were overtaken several times by other groups there was ample space to pass safely. Visitors were politely asked to wear facial coverings whilst in the hall & shop, which were both open. Can't comment on the cafe as we did not partake. Sadly, there is presently nowhere for them to play with a ball or other equipment, but there is an adventure trail for the older children to follow. The garden & grounds remain as stunning as ever and my admiration for the quarry area grows.

Absolutely fantastic woodland walk, the oneway system took you perfectly through to see everything
