We went for a lunch yesterday, the food was fantastic and freshly made. The place was so cosy and I loved the huge Christmas tree in the centre of the restaurant. All the waiting staff were so polite and efficient and informative but one waitress in particular went above and beyond to look after us. She was super friendly and enthusiastic about the menu options. I believe her name is Leanne and she made our visit here an exceptional one.

Have to say I was very impressed with the Old House. Lovely location and the venue itself is clean, fresh and welcoming. Food was lovely, good service and a relaxes atmosphere. Felt safe due to their Covid safety measures. Will definitely be going back.

Had Sunday lunch here on 13/09/2020, the location is beutiful, the building has been renovated to a very high standard, the service was outstanding from every member of staff we encountered, we were seated in the large hall like part of the building with large windows overlooking the valley, the first thing I noticed was how loud everything was, the constant drone of people talking made it difficult to hear the staff who were taking our orders and she also had trouble hearing me , the tables were well spaced due to CV19 regulations so the usual problem of overhearing the neighbouring table wasn't an issue but the overall chatter noise was a bit off putting, the food was well presented and I have no complaints about the quality or flavour of the food we were served, my only minor gripe would be the need to serve my apple crumble in a miniature cast iron saucepan at 400c full to the brim so I couldn't pour the custard over the crumble until I'd eaten half of it, by which time a skin had formed on the custard because I had to wait for the crumble to cool enough to eat first, little thing but a bit annoying when I really wanted to mix in the custatd with the crumble to get the best gooey texture i wanted, maybe some sound deadening on the walls would be an idea to reduce the canteen feel I had when I was first seated. Would I eat here again, absolutely , maybe request a table in quieter part of the building.
