This place has potential, went on berts for 24hr, didnt manage to catch along with a few others, but that's fishing, I can't give a bad review after just one visit because I didn't catch. Nice size double pegs. Didn't see a baliff for the whole 24hrs, paid by card online. Parking isn't the best but close enough to the water. Potential for 20lb plus fish, dont have many waters round lancashire where that's possible.

If you want to be left frustrated and angry then this is the place for you... Pads Lake... 10 anglers, 28 rods, 48 hours and not a single bite, let alone a fish. Talking to other anglers who have been before and decided to give it a second or 3rd chance ( why you would I dont know) and are still yet to have anything. Yes its called fishing not catching but come on really and at 25 a night each. I have fished some tough waters both UK and France and not caught but have always seen others catch and came away thinking next time.. here there wont be a next time. Un-clean, Un-loved and featureless .......... and if you need to use the TOILET god help you. I had to go to the local ASDA they are beyond awful. Owner is obviously just interested in the rather than the fishery. A shame as it could be a great place to go in the hands of an owner who cares.

1st time at Hillside, me and my son fished on Pad lake had 2 fish each a 24 lb ,16lb ,14 and a10 so was a good 24 hrs ,staff friendly and nice clean place. I’d have given it 5 stars but 2 of the 4 carp were in a terrible state, big wounds and damage could well be the anglers fault but needs addressing .
