What We Do: The LBA is dedicated to developing basketball throughout the London community. Starting from developing basic skills to playing at an elite level, the LBA is passionate about raising aspiration of individuals and bringing unity in the community through the power of sport. The LBA is a Community Interest Company, which means that we want to use our profits and assets for the public good. Awards and Recognition: *Partnership with StreetGames, the nationally recognized network for developing sports in disadvantaged communities. The aim of the StreetGames project is “to be sustainable and become part of the fabric of community, which leads to stronger and safer communities, a championing of social action and volunteering, as well as improved health and wellbeing” (http://www.streetgames.org/www/content/about-us). *Received Active Westminster Club Mark in 2012 *Received London Youth Mark in 2013 *Acknowledged by The City of Westminster for “Outstanding Contribution to Sport” in 2012 Message: To make basketball affordable and accessible for all, as this will help to raise the aspirations in people and empower them by creating pathways or working with existing set ups which will expose healthier lifestyles, promote education and qualifications, and income streams.
