Nice looking wee building on the outside but you can't get inside due to locked metal door. Its not trespassing to walk over a farmer's field so just walk over and have a wee poke about.....just don't poke the sheep unless your from Aberdeen of course then poke away

Really quiet castle in the middle of a field. It feels like you're trespassing but they didn't build the steps over the fence for nothing. Unfortunately you cannot look inside but it's nice to look at from the outside as well.
It was was majestic and will stay with me for eternity.
Great food
Just an old castle. Basic and untouched. Still with sheep grazing alongside it. Access to it is not clearly marked so make sure you don't trespass on anyones property while trying to get a better view. Really nothing much to see but an old style castle. This is what a castle can be and not to be mistaken with a palace. Many people ask for directions to Barr Castle and expect it to be a mansion. Castles in Scotland are plenty and they can range from Grand to Bland. Eitherway it is lovely to behold the simplicity of this particular one. Did I say that its on the bicycle route from Kilbernie to Lochwinnoch? The route which extends into Bridge of Weir, Johnstone then joins onto the cycle route to Paisley and Glasgow. Forming part of Scotland's National Bicycle Network meaning that you can go literally anywhere in Scotland from here. Lots of people use the cycle path to exercise and tourists come from far and wide to see this part of the country. A gem just 15min from Glasgow Airport. Please like my review if it has helped you.
Castle small and door is locked
