This is the most beautiful, atmospheric library I've visited. It's great that there is a cafe inside and the ambience is wonderful. I use it for the internet, so it doesn't matter that I only speak English. Staff are really friendly.
Nice library with a good varied collection. It also has some English and French books. The kids section is a bit hard to navigate and has less options in English than the Vathorst branch. It used to be possible to return books in other branches (pre-COVID-19 times). Open as of summer 2020, reservations tend to take a few days until ready for pick up.
A beautiful library. Worth to stay a while to grab a book and enjoy the atmosphere.
Wij liepen de bibliotheek in tegelijkertijd met een mevrouw met haar kinderen. De blonde oudere mevrouw achter de balie kwam achter ons aan en toen ze bij ons kwam zei ze duidelijk geërgerd dat ze ons vanaf de ingang al “riep” ik zei dat ik slecht hoorde waarop ze zei “ja daar kan ik ook niks aan doen”, ze vroeg wat we kwamen doen en zei dat we wel een munt nodig hadden voor het toilet? Weinig hartelijk welkom, in het vervolg bestel ik mijn boeken gewoon weer bij bol.com
