really love the place, great place for shopping and eat local food. its so huge that you might get lost there. better grab a map to visit your desire section/shop. if your tired of shopping then you can relax on nearby park.Since its weekend market so its open on Saturday and Sunday only.
Check the map everyone, it’s moved and NO longer near Chatuchak Weekend Market. JJ Green has moved to the Laksi district which is approx. 20 minutes drive west of Don Mueang airport. It’s open Thursday to Sunday from 6pm to midnight. So if timing is right might be a cool place to visit on your last day in Bangkok and flying out from Don Mueang. The new JJ Green just opened February 6th 2020 and while I was there seemed like it was still going through a soft open. A lot of shops are there but many more have not opened yet. Most are young people which is why I will always support this market. It’s smaller than the old and the old had more vintage market items and less knick knacks. No bars too cause it’s near a university. What is same are the friendly and cheerful Thai vendors. Traffic getting there was the common complaint. We drove there but because the lanes are narrow there was a huge traffic bottle neck. It’s a famous night market name after all plus a long holiday weekend. So plenty of locals coming to check it out. As a result it took us 2 hours to get there which should’ve taken 30 minutes Lucky we didn’t need to go to toilet. For tourists staying in central Bangkok if you take a taxi tell the driver to stay on the left north bound lane of Prachacheun Road ถนน ประชาชื่น the left lane moves quicker and you have to get out on a bus stop and walk short distance across a canal bridge to JJ Green. Right lane is slower because that’s the lane turning into the market’s parking lot, which was free. I don’t think it will have the same ambiance as the original JJ Green. And that’s not a bad thing. With time I think the new JJ Green will develop its own unique character. It’ll make a great night market for locals to enjoy when more shops and restaurants start opening up.
Nothing much or interesting. Visit if only you need to kill some time.
Vintage Night Market as everyone would say. Less touristy, many locals shops here and you can enjoy a good authentic night market feels. We reached around 10pm and it was already crowded most of the stores were open and we hang around till 12 plus, there were still many people coming in when we left. There are many things available, clothes, vintage CD, pet husky, shoes, food, Sunglasses and more ! A Must visit !
