Free after 1800! The fortress itself was nearly empty at this point and felt massive. The music playing gave it an ancient movie set feel. We had to rush through to catch the last gondola back across the river, but what we did see was impressive. We had some friends who went back for the tour and were disappointed with the minimal information given with the English speaking tour. The views are incredible though!

Great place to visit, cable car down to the Deutsches Eck and back again then plenty to see walking around the old fortress. Great views from the Fortress and free viewing platform. Plenty to do to keep the whole family entertained!
Fantastic and massive fortress not seen anything like it before the scale of it is so big you must visit if in area and cable cared to get you up to it wow and superb views over Koblenz and the deutsches Eck
No need to buy tickets, there’s a nice viewing platform beside the parking. Same view. Not much going on in the fortress, maybe a 30 min visit max. Also not sure if it’s worth it, the views are of industrial neighborhoods, not charming country side. There are other castles along the Rhine with better views.
Huge fortress which had been used as such all the way down to the 20th century. However, the material historical exposition is pretty scarce. The best value is in an amazing view over the Rhein valley and the city of Koblenz, as well as the cable car ride across Rhein up the cliff.
