Marvelous place. Even in the winter when I visited. Very sumptuous and green. Worth a visit. Many birds around.
This park is quite well maintained. Strolling around it, it feels like a romantic journey to a forgotten past. It has several paths well fitted for beautiful photo opportunities.
Beautiful garden next to the palace
Visited during \festival of bread\. Nice place, not to big, but a lot of places where you can hide from the sun. Big children area
Small garden linked to the Mafra convent. Curious are the courts of the XVIII/XIX ball game.
Wonderfull place. Don't miss it of you go to Mafra. Is very quiet and you can give a small to medium walk there.
The Garden of Siege is an illuminated work, maintained with detail for the population and visitors. Water mirrors, wide paths, leafy trees and a centuries-old wheel still in operation are some of the attractions of this garden inspired by Versailles. This place is the perfect transition between the walled expanse of the Tapada Real and the monumentality of the National Palace of Mafra, which stands on one of its flanks. The woods and gardens extend over twenty acres, with nooks, shadows, waterfalls or even a peculiar vegetable garden: Horta dos Frades, ordered by D. João V where plants used for medicinal products (pharmacy) were grown. In the Garden of the Siege there is a space called Horto das Aromaticas, which presents about 39 species of plants used for medicinal and condiment purposes.
