Nearly two years ago (its taken me this long to write this) I signed up to a course. I asked in the pre-assessment bit whether or not we would be doing exam practice as I was mostly interested in this. They said yes and all was gravy. After a couple of weeks I noticed we hadn't done any exam style work (the classes were good apart from this) so I decided to do a practice paper and give it to the teacher as homework. She gave it back and said the best person to assess your work is yourself. I was confused. Obviously as I am here to learn Spanish, I dont know Spanish. How can I grade myself? We exchanged emails and she said I should have elected private classes if that was the service I wanted. I therefore emailed the school to ask if I could convert my remaining classes into few private classes. They basically told me I would be called back, gave specific times to receive calls which I never received and I just felt like I was harassing them. This went on for literally weeks and I felt so embarrassed but equally I just wanted a resolution and I was a student with no money so couldn't lose my money (which is a lot). In the end they offered me one free class but I felt so anxious about going to the building because of all the fuss at this point I just wanted my money back. They said no - but I could have the free class. TBH it was probably the worst customer service experience I had had at this point. All I would say is make sure that you are one hundred percent in the right class because they are extremely inflexible, unorganized and quite rude. In relation to the teaching I thought it was good - up to the hw bit.
