A lovely day walking in the nature reserve. The park is a great way to take the family into the wild and to see birds and flowers. Don’t expect a zoo!! It’s a park with rivers and marshland and its wildlife. Lovely!

This National Park is awesome! If you're a bird watcher, a photographer, a family looking for nature, a couple looking for romance, or a person needing solace, then this is the place for you! There are short walks, long walks, bird hides, scenic views, and you can even ride a bike around it. It's on the North East coast of the island, just off the Ma-12. Couldn't find much parking other than a very small car park with room for about a dozen cars but you can park down the small roads along the Ma-12 for free anyway. Entrance is free but you must obtain a permit via the visitors centre, which also happens to contain lots of information on the flora and fauna in the park. Picnics, cameras, binoculars, and respect for nature and other people's enjoyment of the park are a must bring. Enjoy!

I expected a little bit more. You can choose from few routes which can take up to 3 and a half hour, but there is not much to look at. There are very few benches and high bushes everywhere. If you are scared of grasshoppers you definately should not visit this place. If you are some kind of ornitologist or admire birds this place is for you, there are places, where you can sit in a shed a take pictures of them.

Very nice natural park, you can see lots of birds and fish and walk through nature. However beware of the bugs! In addition to regular mosquitoes there were also many tiger mosquitoes which are active during the day. Especially if you are prone to mosquito/bug bites, make sure to use antimosquito sprays also on areas covered by clothing!

A pleasant 1km stroll by the side of the canal brings you to the heart of the reserve, where you may see wading birds and other waterfowl, as well as simply enjoying the fresh air and views. I suspect that the best sightings are early morning or before sunset. There are hides in the reserve to avoid disturbing the wildlife. A good place when you're bored with sunshine and sand.
