Sainsbury's @Hoddesdon is very busy at this time of the year, but it is managed extremely well. There is extra stuff on the shop floor and outside, in the parking lot. I was relieved to find, that there was not any sign of panic buying and that the shelves are well stocked. Still, to avoid the usual Christmas crowds, I prefer late afternoon or evening shopping.

Lovely staff, and the layout is great. I was able to find the stuff I need it quickly. Unlike other retailers, the size was perfect, not to big you get lost and frustrated. And not to small that you can’t find a lot of products.

The shop is good in-store but the delivery service needs considerable improvement. Today's delivery included meats with yesterday as the use by date, and fish with a use by today. Some of the recent substitutions are peculiar - a complelely different item (a bath sponge for a washing up sponge), or just a small part of the quantity ordered (2 fish instead of 6), or something beginning with the same letter (Mulligatawney Soup instead of Minestrone). Some items such as steaks look like the undesirable ones that in-store customers have chosen not to pick up in the store - lots a fat and gristle. The unbagged shopping arrives in crates - one crate today included 15 bottles of wine which weigh over a kilo each, and a bag of tomatoes. If anyone at Sainsbury's reads these reviews the Order Number was 458904141.
Go there for the classic pancakes mainly but no issues all very clear and covid safe
