I have gone to Blackfords usually about a week before Christmas every year for the last 15 years for a reeth for my parents grave. I had a couple of days off 5 days before Christmas so I called in to do the annual duty but unfortunately they had sold out. Not a problem...I asked the girl behind the counter whether there would be any more coming and she said she would ask. She disappeared to see a lady in the back preparing flowers and returned to say there would be some the next morning. I said that wouldnt be a problem and could i reserve two? She said I couldn't. Fair enough i said, could I pay for them then in full and will collect them the next day. She asked the abrupt lady at the back again to be told... No its first come, first served and they might be ready about 10am. Well i'm sorry but that doesn't work with me especially when i was prepared to pay in full and collect the next day as I don't live in the town. I couldn't take a chance of not being able to get any reeths before Christmas and also it would have been an extra journey for me to do the next day but was prepared to. I made a quick enquiry on Facebook where i was advised to try the Fruit & Veg shop in Oxford Road which I did. They had reeths in stock and were a better choice than Blackfords for less money and was greeted by a very pleasant lady who helped me as much as she could and I made my purchases from there. So basically its goodbye Blackfords and hello Fruit & Veg shop in future. The last thing I need is somebody who thinks they are clever but are rude and abrupt at that time of year when time for me is very limited. I will never return there.

First class service every time I get flowers delivered. Stunning flowers delivered quickly and at great prices. Superb and friendly service Jacqui managed to get sunflowers in January for my mother’s funeral as that was what my mother wanted. Our family has been coming here for many years. Thank you
