I only visited to give a cash donation. I have decided to use the money that I would have spent on family for Christmas and by cutting back on the amount I was spending on my family and friends, and giving them money instead of buying presents and wrapping paper, labels tape etc just a simple money card instead. I took the liberty of telling my friends the Christmas before my plan. I give cash because they can use it much more effectively on items needed. Buying products from stores and other outlets are very stressful and often parking charges so all the money that I saved came to 300. Last year I it was 200.when you have many to buy for it is cost effective for me to give money but I have cut back on the amount I give, so that I can support local charities.
I took fleeces ready for winter, some tinned items. I was given a tour of what is available and how people are vetted prior to being allowed to use the food bank. I spent this time with Brian, who explained how donations are made ready to be given away. Brian said they need donations of tinned fish and meat, this is for protein in the balanced diet of the donations. They can also use donations of money so they can buy milk direct from diaries for tracebility reasons. If you feel you are able to make any donations, give Brian a call and ask what is needed, he's more than helpful, grateful and informative at what he does exceedingly well. Thank you.

After using the food bank due to switching over to universal credit me and my partner were overwhelmed and so happy with the support and the welcome we got here. We are so proud to live in Grantham and these are the places that need to he recognised. We are looking forward to giving back when we are back on our feet and thank all volunteers from the bottom of our hearts.
