Nice store and very clean looking since it’s new. But I have one issue and a very upsetting issue. Why is it every time I come to the store I’m followed by someone. Sometimes the same person during my visits, and no not by a customer as how could the same people be there every time I’m there. I understand it’s the holiday season and shop lifting is at a high turnout, but it’s over the top today. My husband and I are shopping and I’m alone looking at women’s clothing and followed by a male who just rambled through the women clothing head down and eyes on me. I’ve work in lost prevention for 10 years, and it wouldn’t even take someone of my knowledge to know they are being watched and followed with the way this guy literally continues to be right by me. My husband roaming the store yet not a person near or around him watching him like I was. Is it because I’m African American and my husband is Caucasian that I’m follow and he’s not? Sure felt like it, I’ve spent money at the store numerous times despite of being watched, even came to their grand opening as I use to shop at the one next to Kohl's before relocating. I even use my credit card and rewards account so they have all of my information, but today was my last straw. I might have to find a different one. I understand it’s your job, but as a paying guest it would be nice to have some space and relaxation without the same person watching your every move as if your going to take something. Just giving the heads up this store might not be for certain ethnicity’s like myself as I’m always followed.

My wife and I had gone to look at kayaks the other week. We were in the market but didn't intend to make a purchase that day. We just wanted to see what different models they had in-stock compared to the location closest to us. We met Greg who was very helpful and answered all of our questions. He even provided information about items that we didn't think to ask about but would have needed to know when making a final decision. We ended up buying 2 kayaks that day along with the necessary accessories. Even though this wasn't the closest location to us, he had provided such amazing customer service that there wouldn't have been a reason not to do business at the Fair Oaks Mall location. If you are looking for outdoor equipment, kayaks, etc.. we definitely recommend this location and ask for Greg.

The 5 stars is for Carlos, the young cashier, who troubleshooted and did a fantastic job assisting my 84 year old Vet father with a fishing rod purchase when another employee made our shopping experience less than enjoyable with his questioning of a military id and unprofessional behavior to Carlos in front of us. I really appreciate the manager taking the time to listen to my concerns and making sure my father will not have the same experience next time he goes to the store.
