Great place to visit, especially if you are a Game of Thrones fan; though it is hard to relate the ruins to the series due to the additions they used. However its a great place to go walking.

We had THE BEST time with our tour guide Sir Willard! I had no idea I was so good at archery! There are so many GOT filming spots it's hard to list them all. Lots of cgi effects used, but exciting to see everything in its natural state. 1000% suggest you book your tour with Winterfell tours before you go so you dont miss out on any fun!

It is a well-preserved baronial defensive house in a beautiful setting, developed into farm buildings to serve a later country house, Castleward. It is well worth a visit. Allow plenty of time for walks, house tour and the excellent cafe. I have known and loved this place for fifty years and it has not been too spoiled by the fripperies of GoT.
