This is an odd place and not really aimed at tourists from what we could gather. We were a group of 4 and upon entry we were handed a glass and taken to our table. We received a bottle of cider and a stick of bread placed directly on the table and thus began our great albeit relatively plate-less experience. Our entree’s arrived in the form of a tasty cod omelette but no plates to eat from so we had to reach over to the shared plate, hack off a mouthful being careful not to drop it as it was transported to our mouths with our napkin underneath. Then came the cod with peppers, again, no plates for us. We enquired about getting some additional plates and our request was denied and we were told it this was the traditional way! None the less, the cod, like the omelette was very nicely cooked and tasty! We’d kept a plate from the salad anyway so at least one extra person could move their portion to a plate from the shared plate. Then out came the main meal, a rather large serve of beef, but again, no plates to eat from. We’d managed to hoard enough plates now so we could at least have somewhere to cut our beef strips into bite size pieces. Last up was cheese and nuts however by this time they’d taken all our plates so we were again using our napkins as plates for cracking nuts and eating cheese. Don’t get me wrong though, the food was great as was the service. It’s just the plate thing left us a little perplexed.

Brilliant! We had a great time, the food was very good and most generous portions. The price was very reasonable for what he had. Good atmosphere, very pleasant service. The only downside was that there was no seating: standing to eat for 2 hours was not ideal.

Lovely place, good food and great hospitality. You can't miss out on the amazing jumbo sized steak, the great variety of cheese and the omelette with fish. The best thing to take there though as most people say is the apple cider.
