The wait to get on the wheel was less than 15 minutes after paying for a ticket. In the meantime, the photographer takes photos while waiting. The photos are optional and comes with additional fees. The sitting compartments are cleaned after each use, this is very important given the pandemic. The wheel gives a good view of the port, central business district and the table mountians. The ride was up to 20 minutes and was enjoyable.

The wheel is such a can't-miss feature in the Cape Town night-sky. Really unique experience and a must if you are in-and-around the Waterfront area. We (me and my love) had supper earlier and we just wanted to walk the Waterfront and do something relaxing. This was perfect with that mindset. Was about 30-45 mins or so? I think they even gave us extra spins :) really helpful and friendly staff. Loved it 100%.

Loved the cape wheel ride. It's 12 minutes ride, 4 rounds (3 minutes each). Lovely view of Victoria & Alfred Waterfront from height.

This is a great way to get an elevated view of the waterfront. It's not the best view of cape town from the wheel, I would rather go to the top of lions head or table mountain. If you've never been on a giant wheel then give it a try. It's something you can comfortably do with the entire family.
