This is a small restaurant on Myrtle Ave, closer to downtown Brooklyn. They offer traditional Spanish/Caribbean (Puerto Rican/Dominican based foods). The food is tasty and very affordable. They also have beers and a small selection of wine. The music is a bit too loud for conversation, but loud enough to have a great time with friends. I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, but if you happen to be in the area, it's worth checking it out.

I ordered the family combo for New Years Eve. I ordered the day before. When I arrived my order was ready. The food was great.
The food is good. I've only gotten take out and that service is pretty good. One con is that price changes happen fairly frequently.
El Cofre is consistently delicious with large portions and the best quality ingredients. The pernil (roast pork) is always tender, juicy, and exactly what I need with the crunchiest, most well-seasoned skin. The first pernil I ever had was from El Cofre and I’m always slightly disappointed whenever I eat pernil anywhere else; even homemade pernil isn’t as good. The staff are kind, bilingual, and amazing at what they do. Skip the chains and get your pernil and other Latin Caribbean cuisine at this affordable small business.
