This shop is amazing! My daughter and I picked out some yarn to coordinate with yarn I had bought at the market from a local vendor, Sue, at the market. The ladies in store were SO helpful with finding the right color, texture, and weight to help my creations come to life! Being new to knitting they were suggestive of ideas, got me set up with some new smooth 11 needles, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Finally finished my first scarf and so glad the alpaca wool came from these ladies! Support local! It’s the only way to go!

Sun Dragon is a wonderfully friendly and extremely helpful store when it comes to choosing various yarns and patterns! The unusual colors and textures are mind-boggling, along with creative and adorable notions to melt your heart! I've purchased many cute gifts for my knitting/crochet friends here. You will want to have plenty of time to spend when perusing for your next project! Also, Rebecca's classes and extra help make it a delightful place to hang out, be cozy and have fun while learning new things. This store is a little bit of heaven on earth! What's not to love?! I highly recommend you stop in and see for yourself!

The world needs more love and kindness like this shop showed me. Highly recommend!! When I arrived in NC on vacation I searched for “the best yarn shops near me” and was led to Sun Dragon Art & Fiber. Due to covid and the need to follow safety guidelines I was required to make an appointment, which was no problem and I actually really appreciated. I waited patiently for two days for my appointment which gave me time to search for new a new knitting pattern and yarn the store carried. I emailed them with questions and they responded with helpful suggestions. As I drove into town with my family in tow I was excited to shop and had the thrill of a new project in sight. As we pulled into town and I was 15 minutes from my scheduled appointment time I rechecked the map and realized I was lost. I called the shop in complete embarrassment to ask for directions only to realize I had driven almost an hour in the wrong direction. While I was upset that I wasn’t going to make it to my appointment and even more upset that I had wasted their time, they were patient, understanding and kind. They even helped me find a yarn store near where I was. The next time I am in town I will definitely stop here. The world needs more love, kindness and understanding like they showed me.
