Despite pelting rain and being the only visitors, the fort is a very interesting visit! After a short ferry ride, you begin with a video followed by discovering the rooms, cannons and donjon of the fort. Nearly destroyed in WW2, thanks to reconstruction its intact in its original state. Worth the visit.

Absolutely worth seeing. You will know more about the defense systems in the region to protect the arsenal in Rochefort. Nice view on top!
Love this place! Been twice and would happily go again. The little walk to the fort is daunting when the tide is coming in so be prepared to get wet or wait for the boat! I like the fact that their are no barriers around things so you can get up close and personal with the grounds. (UK heath and safety would go nuts!) Staff are helpful and pleasant and if you attempt to speak French they will certainly assist in your endeavours!
Interesting historical fort island. You can walk out at low tide (2-5pm in August), or take a free boat at high tide.
Really interesting place to stop and look around. Recommended place to stop
