My favourite restaurant in Amsterdam! The best and most caring service I’ve ever experienced in the city! Waiters were super friendly and recommended us these delicious appetisers while we were waiting for the main course. We will definitely come back! Had an amazing time there!
I honestly was a bit apprehensive of going here as it was quite small and looked like only local people were inside. I could have not been more wrong. The waiter (who I think might be the owner too) was amazing and definitely set the standard high from the very beginning. She was an absolute gem, an example of great customer service. The food though... was out of this world. I had one of the sandwich and I devoured every last bit of it. Me being me I had a brownie too with a coffee. THAT BROWNIE was everything. This place was definitely my whole highlight of Amsterdam.
The place has a very rustic feel to it and a very authentic decoration. The desert was amazing. The portions are very large. Also they do not have a hand held menu but instead you will be listed the specials of the day by the wait staff. Would definitely recommend.
Absolutely recommend eating lunch here. Dinner is good too. The prices are absolutely fair, I’d even say that they are cheap (I am a student, so I kinda have a budget). Every time were visiting Amsterdam, we have to eat at van Kerkwijk. Oh and I also recommend trying the selfmade cakes and brownies. Best sticky-toffee cake I had in my life and I’m not even exaggerating! I am dreaming about this cake.
